Last night I had back to back classes at the studio where I teach. A kids class followed by an adults class. When I went to put the music on for my adults class, the kids play list was still on and I blasted “A Yogi Went to Sea” accidentally… they wanted to hear it so I left it on. We ended up doing all of the songs on the play list (30 minutes) and then continued on with a super playful “adults” class afterwards. They absolutely LOVED the class and I received messages from the students afterwards saying that it was the “funnest” Yoga class they have ever done!!

I am already trained in toddler Yoga but didn’t feel my previous training had taught me enough asanas to teach the children or just enough to keep them interested and engaged. I found KAY and wanted to go on a live course but as they don’t currently have any in the UK, I decided to do OKAY. It was the best choice I’ve made! Haris and my mentor Katie have been so helpful with my many questions. The course itself, is interesting, factual and so much fun! I completed it in 2 weeks, I was hooked and I was disappointed when it ended! I cant wait to take the PreKAY and any future courses that KAY has to offer! Ive started teaching my KAY classes and my children love them! I cant wait to teach even more and for my confidence to build with every class! If you are thinking of taking a KAY course, don’t hesitate, sign up today!

After an amazing 3 day training from Haris, I couldn’t wait to to begin teaching kids Yoga at my elementary school where I am a kindergarten teacher. The very next day I taught a K-2 class (no mats, props, just kids on a carpet) and it was fantastic. The kids asked immediately when we could have another Yoga class! The next day I taught a class to grades 3/4 and was a little nervous about modifying for the older kids and they loved it too! Their favorite was doing the Yoga Slide and getting to relax in their Secret Garden. One girl said, ‘I can’t wait to go back to my Secret Garden!’ I am looking forward to teaching more grades! It is going to be a weekly class at my school! Thank you, Haris, for the tools to teach these children!

WOW!!! I am so excited to have completed the KAY program. I could not have asked for a better mentor. Mandy was wonderful! She gave me great feedback and I never felt alone throughout the course. I stumbled onto KAY when I was looking around for ways to help my then 6 year old daughter. She was not doing well in school and in other areas and so our pediatrician prescribed Vyvanse. This is a common drug used to treat children with ADD/ADHD. My heart sank at the idea that I would have to medicate her as a way to help her function well in school and at home. There had to be a better alternative….and that’s when we found KAY. We discovered that yoga helped quiet her mind that seemed to constantly be on overdrive. She learned ways to calm herself when she was feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated. At nighttime, which was always a battle, turned into a pleasant transition with calm pranayama, meditations and asanas that help her prepare for a good night’s rest. I have seen first hand what a blessing yoga has been for my little girl and myself. I also have a daughter in college that frequently practices yoga for stress management and even pain relief (menstrual, headaches, you name it). I want to share what I have learned and the benefits of yoga to young children. Not all children will have the same wonderful results as Maria, but I believe every child in one way or another will benefit from this practice. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.

Finally I said – ‘how about trying the meditation you learned at KAY?’ So she went to a peaceful place in her mind, visualized a mountain river, a hammock, blue sky, rustling leaves, the sound of water and birds. It worked. She feel asleep!

It was such an experience. Not only did it open my eyes to yoga for children and how it can have such an impact on their well-being, but it also deepened my own practice. It is often said we can learn a lot from children, and yoga is just another example of how that is so true. Kids get ...

After immersing myself in this training, and learning about all 8 limbs of yoga, I have been inspired to enroll in a 200 hour adult course to continue furthering my own knowledge of the practice. My name is Sarah and I’ve been teaching kids yoga for a little over a year. I decided to get KAY Certified to open up opportunities to teach elsewhere. The KAY training has transformed my classes. I was confident in my teachings before, but this provided so many tools and fill in the puzzle pieces that I didn’t even realize were missing and created a great flow for the children and myself included. I love the KAY program and am absolutely recommending it to any of my yogi friends wanting to take that leap to childrens yoga. Thank you Kidding Around Yoga!
