KAY Continuing Education Units

Continuing Education Units. RYTs are required to submit 30 hours of Yoga continuing education training every 3 years. At least 10 of these hours must be contact hours.

Contact hours are in-person classroom hours in the physical presence of a qualified instructor. ONE Contact hour of continuing education is achieved by completing ONE hour of teacher training.

Continuing Education Non-Contact Hours consist of learning outside of the classroom or without a qualified Continuing Education Provider present. A Non-Contact Hour is earned by completing one hour of any of the following activities: reading a book that deepens your practice, taking an ONLINE COURSE, receiving remote mentoring.

ONE non-contact hour of continuing education is achieved by completing ONE hour of activities.

Submit your Continuing Education by going to the Yoga Alliance website and logging into your online account.

This is entirely dependent on the trainer leading your training. For hours to count as Contact CEUs for the purpose of your RYT® registration or renewal, your training must be in the physical presence of a qualified Continuing Education provider. A qualified Continuing Education provider is:

• A YACEP®, or
• An Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT®) of any level registered with Yoga Alliance at the time of your training.

Most of the Kidding Around Yoga trainers are qualified to give you CEUs. But not all. In order to find out if you can get Contact CEUs, check the specific training that you are planning to attend.

Our KAY YACEP (Yoga Alliance CEU Providers) currently offer 15 contact hours in a live training AND 10 non-contact hours in the online training.

So the available CEUs are:

• 15 (contact) + 10 (non-contact) = 25 TOTAL CEUs
• Our KAY non-YACEP currently offer 25 TOTAL NON-CONTACT hours.
