Teen KAY

KAY Classroom
We’ve all been there – the teen years are a time of tremendous growth, both physically and mentally, as well as a time of tremendous anxiety. Do you remember the pressure that you felt as a teenager? Academics, sports, extracurricular activities, after-school jobs, family drama, and relationships all fight for our teens’ time and attention. Add to that the modern stressors of social media, non-stop exposure to traumatic world events, and allure of hiding behind a screen all day, and our teens undoubtedly  need a way to relax, recharge, and reorder their lives. Wouldn’t your middle and high school years have been more successful and enjoyable with the presence of mind and confidence a yoga and meditation practice brings?

The TeenKAY curriculum aims to give you the knowledge, tools, and practical skills required to successfully teach yoga and meditation to teens and tweens. Whether you use the lessons as a parent throughout the day with your own kids, as a classroom teacher providing meaningful “brain-breaks” for your students, or as a coach, therapist, yoga instructor, or counselor as part of your facility’s programming, TeenKAY has you covered.

Included in the TeenKAY curriculum are topics from teen brain anatomy to building communication skills through partner poses, and from guided meditations to using music effectively. TeenKAY also provides unique resources, such as a Sangha Agreement (a list of rules based on Patanjali’s Yamas and Niyamas), a guided meditation script, and the Golden Ticket (a unique lesson plan based on Integral Yoga). There are also dozens of games, activities, and crafts created and curated specifically for TeenKAY.

HOW DOES TEEN KAY WORK?
You will have access to the entire training and can complete it in any order you wish. Your progress and grade is tracked as you move through the training. You can return to any completed lesson at any time. The program will not lose your place. If you happen to leave the program during your training, fear not. TeenKAY  will always know exactly where you left off. And all links in the training will open up a new tab or window, so don’t be afraid to click. At the end you will be given your certificate to download, and you will be prepared with the knowledge to take your teens’ yoga classes to a whole new level.

Teen KAY DOES NOT MAKE YOU A CERTIFIED YOGA TEACHER. If you would like to become a certified kids yoga instructor we offer two great options:

Either of those trainings WITH the addition of Teen KAY will give you the tools to teach a full yoga class to all students.

Teen KAY is only $108. And if you are a Kidding Around Yoga graduate, you get the discounted price of $75.
