Jen has been a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-200 certification) since 2016, but she has studied and worked in both the fitness and childcare industries for over 20 years. Her journey to becoming a kids’ yoga instructor began while working as a preschool teacher. After receiving her certification, Jen embedded yoga into her class curriculum and saw that the kid-centered practice provided her students with a space where they could develop strength, flexibility and balance, practice self-soothing techniques, and have fun with their classmates. With these new techniques, her students were better able to communicate their thoughts and emotions and learned to accept and support the differences among their classmates. This helped them during times of conflict between friends and during moments when they were feeling sad or stressed.
After 20+ years of teaching Pre-K, Jen hung up her teaching hat and returned to school to pursue a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Texas State University…Go Bobcats! She is a mom to four awesome children (two girls and two boys) and has an overly rambunctious red heeler mix named Phin… aka “Pudge”.
Jen’s classes teach traditional yoga poses, breathwork, and meditation techniques through storytelling, games, and dancing. She provides a judgment-free environment where every child can have fun and express their individuality. KAY’s original songs and music make classes so much fun even grown-ups can’t help but join in. What better way to connect with kids than to be a kid yourself?
