About Camp Harmony
United in Harmony, established in 1989, is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities to homeless and impoverished children throughout Los Angeles County, CA. United in Harmony offers several enriching programs year-round to children ages 7-13 years old from over 12 shelters in the LA area.
Camp Harmony is the cornerstone of United in Harmony, as it provides an overnight camp experience for these children twice a year – once in the summer and once in the winter. Through various activities the children have fun while also having an invaluable educational experience. CLICK HERE to visit the United in Harmony website.
Since 2012, KAY has had teachers attend both Camp Harmony sessions to share the gift of Yoga with the campers as Karma Yoga, or selfless service. For many of the campers, this is their first taste of Yoga. And really, these are some of the kids who need it in their lives the most. It is not within our budget to pay these teachers. Without any funding, our teachers reach into their own pockets because they are so committed to these children and KAY’s mission to change the world one peaceful child at a time.
On average, it costs $7,500 a year to have 4-6 KAY teachers attend both sessions of Camp Harmony. This cost covers airfare, rental cars, food and lodging.

Karma KAY was established to support children’s yoga in all economic and social arenas through activities such as providing scholarships for kids to go to camp, sponsoring teachers to teach in underfunded schools and camps for homeless children, and providing scholarships for teachers to attend training programs.
