FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ’s about the KAY Teacher Training

Q – Do I need to be a certified Yoga teacher to take the training?
Absolutely NOT! We always have a large amount of trainees that come from many different backgrounds. OT’s, PT’s, P.E. Teachers, School teachers, Dance instructors, Mental health counselors, School guidance counselors, Play Therapists, Grandparents, and basically anybody who is looking to further their skills and have more tools to work with children with.

Q – Do I earn a certificate to teach Kids Yoga at the end?
Yes you will earn a certificate. And if you are a YA certified teacher you WILL receive CEU’S but you must take the 95 hour training to earn YA certification.

Q – Will this course help me in my teaching Yoga to adults?
A surprising amount of trainees have commented on how much they have used their new skills in their adult classes, so YES!

Q – Will I receive CEU’S from The Yoga Alliance?
YES

Q – Will I receive CEU’S from the governing body of my specific occupation?
They are all different, but yes we have had many students receive CEU’S from their specific field. You must check on your own to find out if it is allowed. Haris is a 500 hour trainer through Yoga Alliance. Mentioning this sometimes helps to get your approval. You must do this on your own.

Q – Are payment plans available?
We do not have an “official” payment plan, and our overhead for each training is very high so we prefer to not do this. However Haris is very flexible and if you are really stuck she would rather you contact her to make a plan, rather than not have your lovely self at the training!

Q – Do I need liability insurance to teach Yoga to children?
Absolutely! And you can find this on your own all over the internet, or contact us for our advice on who to use.

Q – Can I bring my children to the training?
No. And aren’t you glad the answer is no? Now you can take a little vacation. You deserve it! Something that surprises most folks is just how much fun our training is. Find a great babysitter and leave all your worries and responsibilities at home.

Q – Where can I teach once I’ve finished the training?
Basically anywhere there are children. But here is a list of the more common places you will find a KAY teacher:

Public school * Private school * Recreation center * Martial arts center * Homeless shelters as a service * Birthday parties * Festivals and Fairs * Rent a room and start a public class * Parks * Anywhere there are kiddies!

Q – Who can I hire to sub my classes if I need someone?
YOUR best option is to have another KAY teacher sub for you. All teachers are posted on the website and of course sponsoring a KAY training in your town will assure you that you will have a wonderful “family” of teachers to choose from! You will find out the hard way as I did before I met Cassie, that hiring someone who hasn’t taken the training will negatively effect your class and your business.

Please refer to the page of our site for Licensees.
