3 DAY TRAINING

Who is this kids Yoga teacher training for?

This training is not only for Yoga Teachers who want to work with kids, but also great for anybody who works with kids on any level. It teaches children coping skills for stress, games and activities that help them to learn how to breathe, meditate, and calm themselves down. Our training will enhance your career and change your life! Not to mention the lives of all those beautiful kids you work with.

This is not a program for special needs children – however, if you work with high functioning kids with issues such as ADD, ADHD, Autism, Sensory issues, some speech issues, Asperger’s – you WILL be introduced to numerous creative ways to engage your kids and help to bring the benefits of Yoga to them.

People who have benefited from this training:

YES THIS IS A LOT TO LEARN SO DON’T BE LATE OR LEAVE EARLY AND COME WELL RESTED!

PHYSICAL FITNESS LEVEL: This IS a Yoga training. So you will be more comfortable if you have a decent level of physical fitness. However, in many parts of the training we are sitting on the floor on “Back Jack Chairs”. They are very comfortable, and for sale after the training ($45). If you can not easily get up and down from the floor you will always have the option to sit in a regular chair. We do not use tables. We have two Hatha classes during the training to participate in, and a few “sessions” where we teach Asanas/Poses. You CAN teach some poses to your kids without physically being able to practice them. But most of them, you will want to be able to practice on your own. The poses we teach are only a part of what we do, though. So YES , it’s fine for us if you come to our training and sit at a regular chair, or maybe even watch and not fully participate in the Hatha. As long as you understand that we cannot slow down the training or alter it if you are unable to participate fully. We have a very full weekend, and we do need to work through every part of our large manual. It is our experience that many folks who are therapists, teachers, or other practitioners will use these techniques in their profession without teaching a full YOGA class. So come one, come all!

What you can expect from the training:

  • MOST trainings are Friday 1-6pm and Sat & Sun 8:30am-5:30pm. From 2-3pm on Sunday, we have a free, open to the community kids class. If your children are around, they are welcome to join us!
  • AHA-After Hours Asana training is offered on the Monday following the 3 day training if you feel as though you will want more Asana training please sign up!!
  • Yoga Alliance CEU’S offered for all trainings. Many other professions will offer CEU’S on a case by case basis.
  • Our 23-hour, 3-day training is a very intense weekend. Please come well rested and ready for some serious “Kidding Around”! You will learn so much it will blow your mind! You will have a “set system” for teaching, complete with a thoroughly developed class outline. You will know what to do to begin your class, to end it, and MANY MANY options for what happens in the middle. This training is based on you having some basic knowledge of Yoga. Exceptions are often made depending on your circumstances, so please contact Haris if you have any concerns.
  • IF 4-5 HOURS OF ASANA TRAINING ISN’T ENOUGH FOR YOU STAY FOR DAY #4, FOR 5 ADDITIONAL HOURS. COST IS $75. PERFECT FOR NON CERTIFIED YOGA TEACHERS!

CAN’T GET TO ST. PETE, FLORIDA, BUT WOULD LOVE TO TAKE OUR TRAINING? CONTACT HARIS… SHE LOVES TO TRAVEL!

What to Bring

  • Bottled Water/light snacks….nuts/bars/fruit
  • Wear comfortable Yoga clothes
  • A Yoga mat
  • A pen
  • A sweater …as hotels and conference rooms generally run cold
  • In St. Pete I provide comfortable floor level chairs but when I am not in St. Pete I can not do this. I recommend a “camping chair” available at Wal-Mart for $16. We are sitting on the floor and you will be more comfortable if you bring something to support your back!
  • I do sell quite a few things at the training. I am flexible about payment and you can pay at home on paypal or bring cash/check/credit card.

I understand the following concerning the KAY Teacher’s Training. All information I hear from participants and especially personal stories about them, their family, students etc. are confidential. I agree to never repeat or put into writing these stories. That they were offered only to enrich our training and we must all respect each other in this way.All materials in my manual are for my purposes only. Everything is copyrighted and cannot be used for any purpose other than for me in my classes. I agree to never share my manual with other Yoga teachers as I know that it is in the best interest for all concerned to have more people “take” the training. And for KAY to be able to continue to do the work that they do. Therefore I agree to not teach KAY material to other Yoga teachers. I am a “Certified KAY teacher” after my 3 day training, and if I chose to I can become a “Certified KAY licensee” for an additional fee. The Logo and KAY name are both registered trademarks of KAY. I will not use them in any advertising unless I am a “Certified Licensee”, or if I have prior written permission. Miscellaneous: I will come prepared with a yoga mat, water, and wearing comfortable clothing and a sweater.  I commit to being timely as it is disturbing to the flow of the training to come late or leave early. I will not receive a certificate if I am not in the entire training. Special arrangements can possibly be made afterwards for a fee if I need to make up time in order to receive a certificate. I will come with a REALLY great attitude and will be prepared to do some serious Kidding Around!
